The choice is not fossil fuel energy versus no energy.

The choice, in my view, is business as usual versus lower and zero carbon energy technologies.

What is advocated by people such as myself is replacing conventional coal and other fossil fuel energy sorces, with nuclear, natural gas, wind, solar thermal, & hydro-electric energy. As well as massively increasing energy efficiency.

Pre-industrial world population was < 1 billion. Fossil fuels are finite. Think about it.

AGW is fundamentally a question of science. Modern spectroscopy, paleoclimatology, thermodynamics, and climate modelling are more than suggestive. Over appropriate time scales (thirty year increments) a very good understanding by climatologists is evident.
